Eat, drink, relax and unwind - Experience Bella Lavender Estate with its 3500 lavender plants overlooking beautiful vineyards and olive trees.
You may not want to leave your luxury bed and breakfast South Australia accommodation of The Frames; but if you wish to explore what the beautiful Riverland has to offer, Bella Lavender Estate in Winkie is well worth the visit and only a 30-minute drive from Paringa.
Bella Lavender Estate was established in 2008 by Mario and Lucy, who acquired the property back in 1999. The Bella Lavender Estate building was built by Mario and Lucy's 3 eldest sons, Laurie, Andrew and Steven.
When visiting Bella Lavender Estate, you can stroll through the fragrant rows of lavender plants, visit the Mediterranean style coffee shop, purchase local produce such as olive oil, jam and body products or enjoy a coffee and meal whilst overlooking the lavender fields. Locals will tell you that the wood-fired oven pizzas are some of the best in the Riverland!
For something more personal, during summer visitors can watch Mario pick and distill the lavender to produce lavender essential oil which is used to make some of the body products sold at the café. The staff are very approachable and enjoy speaking to visitors about the farm and the process of growing, drying and distilling lavender – you just have to ask.
